Concurrently with the development of our gluconic acid process, we are developing
a route for production of food grade fructose.
Fructose is used as a natural sweetener, and is naturally sweeter than table sugar. Fructose has also been mooted as an excellent feedstock for chemical production, but is currently too expensive and not widely available enough in high purity.
Our process for fructose production has shown good performance, and laboratory testwork shows it to be very economically competitive with existing process. This process is also currently at laboratory pilot scale.
