Australian BioRefining Pty Ltd is a private company established in 2004 to develop and commercialize sustainable process technologies for value adding to presently low value agricultural products.

We have identified several opportunities and targeted several promising technologies that have become possible through developments in materials science and process chemistry over the last 15 years. Many of the concepts that we are investigating are not new concepts, however we are approaching the development of these concepts in different ways to what has been done previously (previously the results have been that processes are either not possible or not economically feasible).

The board of Australian BioRefining possesses a range of expertise covering research, development, and production and financial management in chemistry, chemical and mechanical engineering, and large scale commodity production.

AustralianBioRefining has initially targeted the sugar industry, and is currently investigating processes for value adding to sugar, to cellulosic waste, to residual ash waste, and molasses. The company is seeking investment and industry partners for the early commercialization of our most advanced technology – production of gluconic acid from sugar, and for further development work on processes for production of mannitol, fructose, xylose, erythorbic acid, synthetic zeolites, and chemically modified cellulose. These products cover a range of sectors – food additives, confectionary, pharmaceuticals, diabetic foods production, industrial chemistry, cement additives, and environmental and agricultural remediation.
